Fashion Revolution Day - What's on in Berlin

Sunday 24th April is Fashion Revolution Day - the day that we remember the 1,134 victims of the 2013 Rana Plaza disaster, and call on all brands for more transparency and better workers'  rights through the hashtag #whomademyclothes. This worldwide event is gathering pace every year, with thousands of people challenging brands and taking part in discussions about the future of fashion. If you haven't so far, tweet your favourite brand to ask #whomademyclothes, and if you're about in Berlin check out my list below to see what ethical events are happening this weekend. See you there!

Why shop when you can swap? Check out Fashion Revolution's Swap Party in the amazing 25h Bikini Hotel Berlin, which overlooks the Berlin Zoo (check out photos of my visit a few months ago here). As well as a tombola and mobile screen printing station with the #whomademyclothes logo, there's also an inside out photo booth by Noveaux Magazin and a upcycling corner hosted by à la mode Berlin and Therapy + recycle and exorcise designer Mariangeles, who will help customise your swapped items. Swapping starts at 4.30pm, and items left over after 9pm will be donated for recycling. The demand for green fashion is growing, which has led some retailers to start producing their own sustainable fashion lines. Is this the future? The event will discuss what lies behind the slogans and of the potential of green fashion for the mass market, with panel guests Christine Fehrenbach (Head of Marketing, Manufaktum) and Magdalena Schaffrin (fashion designer for Ecco's green line, amongst others), presented by Eva Apraku from city magazine TIP Berlin.
