Free Sustainability for Professionals Course with Future Learn

If, like me, you'd like to increase your knowledge of sustainability, but haven't yet found a course that is time- or budget-friendly enough, then Make an Impact: Sustainability for Professionals is for you! The FREE six week course is run by the University of Bath in partnership with Future Learn, a platform owned by the Open University which offers a "diverse selection of courses from 60 leading universities, cultural institutions and businesses around the world, including the British Museum, the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts (ACCA) and the UK Government."

So what can I learn?
The course covers the basic definitions and history of sustainable development and sustainability in business from a niche interest to the present date, and investigates the core drivers of sustainability, from the use of codes of conduct to the importance of stakeholder engagement, governance, and the continuing innovation. It also touches on international perspectives towards sustainable development and how these impact on business activities around the world.

Who is the course for?
The course is aimed at professionals, but the great thing is that you don't have to have any specific knowledge in this field, as each topic is explored in relation to your own business experiences, wherever in the world you’re based. In fact, one of the course's key objectives is to find out "how you can use your personal interests to be influential in making sustainable development happen within your company" - whether you're a blogger, retailer, designer, or someone just interested in making a difference.

Sounds great! When does it start?
Make an Impact: Sustainability for Professionals in partnership with the University of Bath starts on the 17th August 2015 and runs for 6 weeks, for 3 hours a week. For more information, check out the course video on the website.
